Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Snuggles is a loving, friendly, tan and white 14-pound, female Shih Tzu (born: 03/02/2003). From puppy hood, Snuggles brought sunshine and purpose into the life of two senior citizens who loved her dearly and gladly cared for her every need. Sadly, Snuggles caregivers were recently placed in a nursing home and there was no one willing to take her in; so little Snuggles was surrendered to an animal (kill) shelter. A downstate transport organization that rescues dogs from kill shelters contacted us and on 08/29/2016 Snuggles arrived at the Safehouse. This beloved pet is a little lost right now, frightened and unsure of how to react to all that has happened to her lately. She is very sweet and would love a place to lay her head as, at her age, she isn’t overly active. When it comes to choosing a dog companion, many potential adopters don't realize how great older dogs are. They may sleep more and their hearing and/or eyesight may not be as keen as it used to be, but the gratitude and instant unconditional love you get from an older rescued dog is immeasurable by the clock or the calendar. Accustomed to living with a family, she arrives totally housetrained, well mannered, quiet and calm; a perfect companion, Snuggles enjoys going for walks, sleeping in a bed near you and spending every minute with you. Searching for the love and close companionship she had with her previous family; Snuggles will need time to heal and understand that she is safe and loved once again. If you are looking for an instant companion, who can settle right in, leave you time for yourself and let you get a good night’s sleep, come meet Snuggles. All she wants is a second chance at a loving home. Snuggles is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and she has had a complete physical and dental. Her adoption fee is $200. Please note: Snuggles is eligible for our Senior-to-Senior discount.
