http://welcomehomedogrescue.org/?page_id=716
Weight: 14 lbs.
Age: 1 yr
Personality: She is little shy and timid with people but she loves other dogs. She likes to play and run with her dog friends. She grew up at a high kill shelter as a very young puppy and had very little interaction with human. When given time and distance, she slowly warms up. We would need an experienced adopter who could give her time and love until she is able to gain trust and open up. She has a very sweet personality and demeanor and will be a great family dog once she opens up.
Coat: soft / non shedding
Training: She is learning basic commands.
Potty trained: Yes
Health: Healthy with no issues / Up to date with vaccination
History: She was saved from a high kill shelter in South Korea while she was being exposed to a kill list. Since she is a mixed breed, she was not able to find a family in Korea.
Fostered in: Fullerton, CA
Type of home: She would need another dog in the house since she loves to have a furry companion. Poppy needs time and distance until she feels comfortable with her surroundings as she is little fearful of people. Not recommended for a family with young kids since Poppy will not like to play with them in the beginning.
Crate trained: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Kids: Not with young kids
Good with Cats: Unknown
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $300.00
All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
Our adoption process looks like this:
1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized
Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
