Say hello to the cutest dynamic duo you’ll ever lay eyes on, Captain and Morgan! These two were found by a Good Samaritan who spotted them along a rural Lancaster County road where their owner had dumped them. Sadly, Captain was in such poor condition that the person first was unsure if he was alive. He weighed just 33 lbs when he should’ve been closer to 65 lbs. Both pups were also suffering from skin infections, malnutrition, and were infested with fleas. Captain is missing almost all of his lower teeth and it is clear that Morgan has had multiple litters of puppies in her young life.
Despite being severely neglected and having every reason to not trust humans, Captain and Morgan are super sweet and want nothing more than to give and receive love. They have been receiving proper medical attention, lots of TLC, and regular, healthy meals and both of them are thriving. Our vets found no reason for Captain’s severe emaciation and in just four weeks he gained 20 lbs! Soon both pups will be healthy enough to be spayed, neutered, and microchipped and then the next stop in their journey to happily ever after will be a home to call their own. Until that time they will be enjoying the comforts of their foster home.
Morgan is a petite little meatball who loves her buddy Captain, but she’s not so sure about other dogs besides him. The thought of placing them in separate homes, which may take away Morgan’s only canine buddy, is heartbreaking. For this reason, we are hoping that there is an amazing family with no other pets who will want to welcome this pair into their home and hearts. Captain is a middle aged guy at around 6-7 years old, but he doesn’t know it! He loves carrying toys around in his mouth, is a total food hound who would eat treats all day if he could, and has a nice, gentle demeanor. Morgan is estimated to be about 3 years old, is super affectionate and cuddly (okay, she thinks she’s a lap dog), and loves every person she meets. She also has one of the best pittie smiles we have ever seen to go with her gorgeous face! Together they enjoy quiet evenings with their foster parents and taking long strolls through the neighborhood and on local trails. Sounds like a dream couple, right?
If you are looking for a fun-loving, happy, playful pittie pair to brighten up your life, Captain and Morgan would love to meet you!
