Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please meet George, a one-year old Chihuahua! Weighing in at only three pounds, George was surrendered while PFP was working Chicagoland Rescue Intervention & Support Program - CRISP.
He was barely alive when his owners surrendered him, and he spent three days at an emergency vet on oxygen and fluids. We still aren't sure what happened, but the vet believes he may have had pneumonia and extreme sun exposure. He gained over a half of a pound that week just from being on high-quality food. His foster has been using a humidifier to help his breathing with essential oils in it, and his strong antibiotics have helped immensely.
To be honest, we weren't sure if he was going to make it and had to prep our team for the worst. Then on Friday morning George started "talking." He was a completely new dog and now LOVES everyone! He finds safety in his eight year old human foster brother and likes visits from the resident 20 pound cat. George does have a heart murmur so he just needs to take it easy in his forever home :)
