Little Kiki had come a long way in just a few weeks since her rescue and is ready to begin her search for a very special forever home. Kiki is a 3 year old tiny shih tzu surrendered with her mom (who has been adopted!) and sister when their elderly owner could no longer care for them. Kiki lived her whole life in her owner's apartment with minimal exposure to people, never walked on a leash, and never groomed. She was terrified and defensive after being removed from the only home she ever had known and getting medical care and grooming for the first time ever. She took a while to realize we only wanted to make her life better, and finally had her breakthrough this weekend in her foster home. She's transformed into a cuddly sweet girl who wants to be held once she bonds and trusts you...she's still very fearful of strangers and will need a special calmer adult home preferably with just one person who will take the time to earn her love and devotion. She's very comfortable around other dogs and would be happy in a multidog home. Email njwoof@cs.com if you are interested
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
