I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Memphis's Story...

Memphis and his littermates, Shamus and Elvis, were pulled from a high kill shelter in TN when the shelter was at capacity.  The pups were about 4 weeks old (assumed) when they first came to the shelter and are now about 8 weeks old.  The are hounds, but their exact breed is unknown.  Because at 8 weeks, they are only 5 and 6 pounds, we don't anticipate them becoming a large sized dog.  Despite their young age, they are already neutered and have their first set of puppy shots.  They will get at least one more set of distemper/parvo shots and a rabies vaccine prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Memphis, a Nesquehoning Hound (Unknown Type)/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Dachshund for sale in Nesquehoning, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Nesquehoning.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nesquehoning already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nesquehoning breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Dachshund breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nesquehoning paves the way for another one to be saved.
