Facts about Rheia

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black & White Or Tuxedo
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Born approximately May 7, 2016, Rheia is one of the 6 Greek Goddess kittens available for adoption. She is named after the Titan Mother of the Olympians because of her initial "tough girl" personality! She is one tough cookie, but once you gain her trust she's pawesome! Since she's been with us, she's softened up quite a bit. Rheia is very playful, will solicit affection, likes to be petted, and will snuggle with you - but does not like to be picked up or held.

Rheia would benefit from an experienced cat owner who is willing to give her the time, patience and space she needs to adjust to a new environment and family, and to allow her to be her true kitty self. Given the proper introduction, she adjusts well to living with other kitties. She's not thrilled with dogs, but it's not totally out of the question.

THANK MEW!

Before scheduling an appointment to meet with our rescue foster kittens, there is some information we must share with you. A large majority of the kittens we foster are former feral kittens (born in the wild with no human contact), and depending on at what age we trap them, and their individual personalities, they may or may not maintain some degree of their instinctive fear of humans after socialization. All of the behavioral descriptions of our kittens are accurate as it pertains to their behavior with their foster family. Their initial behavior with strangers is usually one of fear, wherein they will run and hide.

Be aware that this is only a brief, TEMPORARY state which will pass once they get to know you and your family and determine that you are not a threat to them. Once you make that connection, they will bond with you and your family, as they have with us. This may take some time and patience, but is well worth it in the end.

If you have the patience and are willing to take the time to allow a new kitten to adjust to a new home and family, and are willing to follow our instructions on how best to acclimate them to a new environment, then please complete our online application by clicking on this link (or copying and pasting it into your web browser's address field):

If your application is approved, we will then proceed with making an appointment for you and your family to meet with the kitten of your choice.

Thank mew once again for considering adoption!

About Feral Angels

About Our Rescue Group...

Feral Angels is a non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of all feral, stray and free-roaming animals. Although our main focus is on feral cat colony maintenance through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), it is also our mission to provide education and support to individuals desiring to improve their community while improving the lives of the feral and stray community animals through fostering and socialization of feral kittens and stray animals, animal adoption and injured animal rescue.

Feral Angels is NOT a shelter, but rather a network of foster families and volunteers who rely solely upon public support to fund our TNR, fostering and rescue programs. Our Adoption Process...

Feral Angels is always on the lookout for friendly, adoptable kittens and strays who are in need of a furever home. Feral Angels is NOT a shelter, but rather foster homes with individuals who will do the best they can to see to it that the animal gets the best care possible while awaiting a permanent home.

Before any animal is adopted out, it will be examined by a veterinarian to establish the approximate age and to asses its overall health. Then it will be given age-appropriate vaccinations. If the animal is not already spayed or neutered, arrangements will be made to do so. We will also arrange for a microchip implant.

All potential adopters must complete an appropriate Adoption Application which can be completed online by clicking here (or copy & paste into web browser):

http://feralangels.x10host.com/Adoption-Application/

Once a potential adopter's application has been approved, we will contact him/her/them in order to schedule an in-person visit with the animal at the animal's foster home. If the animal and the potential adopter(s) are a match, we will then schedule a home visit. If the home visit is approved, the Adoption Contract can be executed, adoption fee paid and the adoption finalized.
