We took Bernie in because he needed help, we knew something was wrong. He had 3 VERY large masses that needed to be checked out, a tiny cyst on his eyelid - just big enough to rub his eye and cause pain and infection - and teeth that hadn’t been properly cared for. It turns out the lumps are lipomas (just fatty tumors) the cyst has been removed from the eye, and he had 7 teeth extracted. And BOY does Bernie feel better!!! Unfortunately, since his previous humans ignored the issue, his the lipomas are now far too large to be safely removed. They don't bother Bernie but sadly, most people aren't willing to over look his "flaws" and give him a loving home.
Bernie is so very sweet! He is quiet, walks well on leash, crate and housetrained. He likes rides in the car and sleeping at your feet, He does not try to get on furniture, He is a mellow guy who enjoys squeaky toys and food! He likes most other dogs but tends to want to hang out with the less rambunctious crowd and would be perfectly happy as an only dog! He is oblivious to cats. He is vaccinated, neutered and heartworm tested negative and microchipped.
Bernie is a wonderful, easy going low maintenance dog who wants to hang out, eat, ride in the car, and squeak his toys. He is not a snuggley dog, he is just an mellow dude looking for a low key mellow household
