My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Spangles is the most adorable little poodle girl. She is approx 2 years old and 16 lbs. She was found on the streets with her two little six month old pups. We saved the entire family. She is the most precious dog, so well behaved, quiet, and she sits patiently waiting for her dinner and treats. She does well on leash, seems to be house trained, gets along with all of the other dogs, but not one that has started playing with them yet, but that may change with time. She is just a doll. She tested positive for heartworms and was treated with the required series of injections, and she has also been started on monthly heart guard as a preventative.

The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
