Facts about Corky

  • Breed: Shar Pei
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
When I first came into Rescue, I was really sick and my weight went all the way down to 27 pounds. My foster parents took me to a really nice animal hospital in Gainesville and I was fortunate enough to be seen by a wonderful veterinarian named Dr. Claire Stevens. I had overheard people saying that my prognosis was really poor but Dr. Claire thought differently, and with her expertise got me well again. I am on no medication at all and have gained all my weight back. I now weigh 46+ pounds and I feel as frisky as a pup. I have to eat ID dog food, which I love, and only get one cup twice a day. I get to go on long walks with my foster dad and love to play “hide the hoofie” in my fenced-in yard. Whenever my dad gets ready to put on my collar to take me out, I am so happy I squeal like a little piggy. I am completely house broken and I am looking forward to finding a home with my forever family. I think I would like it if I was the only dog, but I might be ok with a doggy pal, but no cats please. If you would consider me for adoption, it would be the perfect happy ending (or new beginning) to my story. Thanks for listening…

Your pal,

Our Adoption Process...

We ask for an adoption donation that is used to help offset the medical expenses. We require a home visit and do an adoption agreement for each adopted dog. We also have special bags and booklets that accompany each dog when they are adopted.
