Hi Im Denver...people call me a ‘Bassador’ because of my shorter Bassett legs and big Labrador heart and personality!! They also call me a goof ball but I don't know what that means : ) I would LOVE to be with people that are active and take me running, hiking or biking. And I would definitely keep up. I LOVE balls and fetch even more and could play and play all day! I am pretty good off leash and good with other dogs and I'm learning to walk on a gentle leader (my trainer says otherwise I pull and I'm a strong boy), but I'm getting better. I know sit and down and I am good in the house (except if a garbage can is open). I can sometimes get worried by new people and will bark at them. But my trainer is helping me with that and once I'm introduced I get along with people just fine. I would rather not live with cats and I might get a bit boisterous around small children. I just need a chance...and someone not to move and leave me behind! Thanks! Love Denver xoxo
Canines With a Cause brings shelter dogs and military veterans together. Veterans benefit from the healing companionship of the dog and shelter dogs lives are saved by finding loving homes. Working with the dogs and training them to help others has proven to be very beneficial to veterans. We also have an adoption program for those dogs who would rather just be a family companion than a working pooch. We call these dogs our “Diamonds in the Ruff”, since we know they are all precious jewels. Most of our dogs were on death row at one time for no reason other than they had the bad luck of ending up in a crowded shelter. Canines With a Cause is dedicated to the mission of creating public awareness and emphasizing how dogs and other companion animals enrich our lives.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our dogs are available to meet by appointment only or at events. Please follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/CaninesWithACause) or check out website events for which dogs will be at these events.
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters must fill out an application from our website (http://www.canineswithacause.com/adoption-form/). Once the application is received we will look it over, call veterinarians, landlords, etc. if needed. Adoption fees vary depending on the age of the dog ($100-$175). We require a home check on ALL adoptions. If you are inquiring about one of our dogs and live out of Utah we will contact a rescue in your area who will do a home check.
