Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
FLOWER lives up to her name in every sense of the word! She is truly as gentle as you would be while holding a delicate bloom. She wants nothing more than to please and to be loved. She is appreciative of even the smallest kind act. FLOWER lives in a foster home with 3, 5, and 9 year old children. She is flawless with all of them. Her foster family has fostered many dogs, but according to her foster mom, the 3 year old's bond with FLOWER is on a different level than it has been with any previous foster dog. They are honest to goodness best friends.
In addition to being kind and beautiful, FLOWER adores other dogs. This 2 year old sweetheart never feels the need to be the boss in a group. Our rescue director wholeheartedly believes, " if a pup can't get along with FLOWER, he/she can't get along with anyone." She doesn't live with any kitties, but feel strongly she would be just fine with them.
FLOWER's favorite thing in the world is snuggling on the couch, but she also enjoys playing or sunning outside. She doesn't chew things that don't belong to her, knows not to potty in the house, and is well behaved in her crate when her foster family is away from home. She has such a desire to be accepted that she doesn't want to do anything to risk getting in trouble. She is so happy to be in a home receiving love.
FLOWER minds her manners on car rides and walks well on the leash so she would be a fantastic traveling partner. However she would be just as content spending time at home with her family. Something as simple as giving her a quick pet, causes FLOWER to stare up at you with eyes full of enough gratitude and kindness to melt your heart. Her forever family is going to be forever blessed to call this girl their own!
FLOWER is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
