Facts about Cheerio

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
And a chip chip Cheerio! Cheerio is one handsome fella.! He is a 4 year old brown tiger. He is generally friendly and enjoys being pet, but you cannot pick this boy up-he will give you a warning nip if you do. His nip is his first line of defense if he is about to be picked up, cornered or threatened. Although Cheerio is a friendly cat, he can get over stimulated at times. It is for this reason that Cheerio cannot be adopted into a home where there are children in residence or visiting regularly. He would be able to get along with another cat or 2 in the household though. He is generally a cool cat, and his behavior can be managed in a calm and quiet home. He is religious in the use of his litter box, and uses the scratching post for exercise exclusively. He just needs a home where he is understood and respected. There are plenty of times when he will approach you to cuddle or play. We realize that Cheerio is not the perfect cat for everyone, but that there is someone out there who is his perfect match. We are willing to wait for the adopter who is the perfect fit for both themselves and Cheerio. Are you cat savvy and want to add this boy to your home? Cheerio is currently taking a break from shelter life and is staying with one of our awesome foster families. If you would like to meet him, please call the shelter at 603-628-3544 and they will be happy to set up a meet and greet with Cheerio.
The adoption fee for adult cats includes the following: spay or neuter and procedure; 1 year Rabies vaccination; distemper vaccination, microchip; and combo test of FIV (feline AIDS) and FeLV (feline leukemia). Other medical care provided might include treatments for fleas, ear mites, dental work or infections or other medical conditions.

About Friends of Manchester Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We believe all animals are deserving of life, respect and care. Our goal is zero-population-growth through spay/neuter programs and services that focus on education, medical care, fostering and adoption. Friends of Manchester Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization which started in 1996. The shelter takes in homeless, abused, and abandoned animals in the city of Manchester. We provide shelter, medical care, and spay/neuter to every animal that comes through our doors. In operation for nearly two decades, the shelter has helped provide care and find loving homes for over 20,000 animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Both dogs and cats and other pets we may have available for adoption can be met at the Friends of Manchester Animal Shelter at 490 Dunbarton Rd in Manchester.

We also rescue southern dogs several times a month. These dogs go into foster homes as they wait to be adopted. Applications can be filled out at the shelter at 490 Dunbarton Rd. Once approved a meeting will be set up.
