Facts about Zion

  • Breed: Boxer
  • Color: White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Zion is a true head turner with his brown eye patch and soulful hazel eyes. While it may be his good looks that first captures your attention, Zion's fun and affectionate personality is his most endearing quality. He is heartworm negative and in overall excellent health for a 4 to 5 year old..

Zion is a happy and well-adjusted member of his foster family. He quickly won over his foster sister, a 5 year old boxer who is quite particular about her friends. Recently she has even allowed Zion to share "her" couch, a privilege she has not extended to the other foster dogs in the past. Zion is currently living in an apartment and has done very well with his house training. He does well in his kennel but his excellent home manners have earned him the privilege of not always having to be crated when the family leaves.

Zion recently enjoyed spending a weekend with a very active boxer puppy and loved playing with a dachshund too. Zion's exuberance and dog social skills can make it difficult for him to successfully meet new dogs but slow introductions can help. He is not likely to be a dog park guy, and he’s working on his leash training. Zion responds very well to training and thrives with positive re-enforcement.

Zion loves both physical play and playing with toys. Once he's had sufficient activity and playtime he loves to cuddle up to his humans or dog buddies. We don’t know how he would do with kids but he’s not a candidate for a home with cats or other male dogs. Zion is ready for consistent boundaries and lots of love from his forever family.
