Sylvester's Story...
This is Sylvester and we think he was dumped in the country by an owner who did not want the responsebility any more.
He is a great guy with people, but unknown how he is with children.
He has a beautiful tan coat and loves to get into the exercise yard for a sniff around.

October 7 2008 SYLVESTER update:
Well Sylvester has turned out to be quite the gentleman when walking with the volunteers. He will start out pulling a bit,but when he catches your pace he is great to not pull. He still loves to get into the exercise yard for a game to fetch and most times he brings the ball back. He also loves being the center of attention when people come in for a visit.
Please call the shelter for more info on Sylvester.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sylvester, a Wallaceburg Collie/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Chow Chow for sale in Wallaceburg, or seeking a Collie/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Wallaceburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wallaceburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wallaceburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Chow Chow breeders who help with Collie/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wallaceburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
