"Courtney" is a beautiful female kitten who was surrendered by her owner on June 16, 2016 along with her five best friends/siblings (Caleb, Camille, Cassidy, Cheyenne, and Cosmo). "Courtney" was approximately 3-months old when shecame to our shelter. "Courtney" has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a darling kitten face with rather large ears (the better to hear you with my dear) :) She has a friendly personality but was obviously a bit nervous when we separated her from her companions to take her glamour photos :( She depends upon her cage mates for comfort and security, and we'd love to see them adopted in pairs. Kittens do so much better together. "Courtney" will be available for adoption as soon as she is spayed. She was given vaccinations and wormer on August 17, 2016. "Courtney" weighed 5.4 lbs on that date. She is available for foster/rescue at any time. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters. UPDATE: "Courtney" was given rabies vaccine on August 25, 2016 and was spayed on September 14, 2016. She weighed 6.4 lbs. on that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Courtney (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
