Red's Story...
Hi, I’m Red!
I’m just here for the cookies! I’m reaching out because I need a Thunder Buddy, asap! You’re my ideal person if your favourite club in school was the Book Club, and your favourite food is anything yummy and smelly. We might match if you have some anxiety too, because we might just understand each other a little better than others.
Would you be my friend if I told you that, even though I can be really shy or nervous, I try really hard to be the best I can be in everything? Men are a little scary but I try to warm up to them if they are patient with me, I’ll be the Shadow to your Pan, the Tongue to your Peanut Butter, the Wag to your Tail! There’s a thing – is it called children? Anyway, what is up with them? They’re weird and little and fast and scary!
Would you be willing to come and spend some time with me? I need to make sure you’re good people, I’m sure you understand! I also go to some classes, I think the humans called them “Confidence Classes”, once or twice a week – here’s what happens: I go in a big room, and I get tons of yummy treats! Easy, right?! I would love to attend them with you too! My favourite place I’ve ever been is a lap. I’m not your usual party girl, I’m happy to be at home with a lap, but I do try very hard when I’m taken out for new, positive experiences. OH! and hiking I love that!
Want to come hang out with me? I’ll share my favourite treats!"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Calgary Pit Bull Terrier/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/Beagle for sale in Calgary, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/Beagle dog from a breeder in Calgary.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Calgary already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Calgary breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/Beagle breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Calgary paves the way for another one to be saved.
