Here's what the humans have to say about me:
OZZY
Maine
Ozzy is an adorable five-year old Toy Poodle who is looking for a new home. He is a light apricot color and weighs approximately 8-10 lbs.
Ozzy currently lives with two other dogs (a male and a female), and five cats.
He was originally a puppy store dog. He has been living with his current family his entire life. Ozzy gets along great with the female dog in the home and the kitties - but he is showing some territorial/jealous behavior (not aggression) towards the other male dog in the home. His family is heartbroken, but feels that Ozzy would be happiest in a home where he would not have to share his humans with another male dog.
Outside of the home - Ozzie gets along well with dogs of all shapes, sizes and sex.
Ozzy is an absolute love bug! He would be a perfect companion for an active retiree. He enjoys going for walks, to the beach and most especially especially cuddling with his humans. He enjoys being picked up and still has a playful demeanor.
Ozzy requires regular grooming (and is overdue) - prospective adopters should be prepared for that expense.
Ozzy is not a candidate to be off leash. He will need regular leash walks and/or a fenced in yard.
The ideal home for Ozzy would be:
-- One where he is not left alone for long periods of time
-- One without another male dog
-- One with a fenced in yard suitable for small breeds
Our adoption process includes a completed application, adoption fee, vet reference, home visit and meeting between dog and prospective adoptive family. Ozzy is currently living on Chebeague Island, prospective adopters will meet Ozzy on the "mainland" on an appointment-only basis after their application for adoption is approved.
