Foggy's Story...
Who needs fair weather friends when you can have a friend for life? Say hello to Foggy! This adorable boy and his siblings were taken in by a citizen who contacted St. Francis Humane Association for help. Foggy is friendly and playful and would be a wonderful addition to any family. He would likely do well in a home with children, would be a great companion to another cat (or two) or a complement to another young cat or kitten and could likely learn to love a dog. Foggy has been examined by a veterinarian, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, received his age appropriate vaccines and has been neutered and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Foggy, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
