Facts about Very Barry!

  • Breed: Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
This handsome and debonair fellow has been with us for a few months now, what can I say, he likes it here! Well, that is not the full story, although he seems perfectly happy the perfect person has just not come across this wonderful boy. Barry is a chihuahua, maybe rat terrier mix? He is as cute as a button(love those freckles) and a really great little guy. But, he also needs a strong person in his life. Those of you that have had hard headed little dogs in their lives know what I am talking about-LOL!! Barry is very well mannered, funny, loving and sweet, but if he thinks he can get away being less than polite then he is going to give it a shot. Like many chihuahua's they need to know who is boss or they will throw their hat into the ring we have to let them know that yes, we love them, but no...they are not in charge. Barry knows this with us and is sweet and loving. His adoption fee is $175. He is just 3 years old and about 8 pounds, Barry is a perfect little gentleman, great in the house and not even a barker!! About Eye on the Sparrow

About Our Rescue Group...

All of our pets are in foster homes, from Sheridan to North Aurora, IL. We take in many special needs dogs, some physically, mentally or behaviorally challenged. Some of them have been abused or neglected, many are seniors, most just need some understanding and patience. A lot of them have never heard a vacuum before or even felt a kind pat on their heads. Fostering them prepares them for the life they so richly deserve when a kind person adopts from us. When you adopt a shelter dog, you are making a giant step in reducing euthanasia for all these great dogs looking for a home. It is not their fault, it is the fault of the human that previously was involved in their life. Thanks for checking out our website, maybe you will find the pal of your dreams.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an online application on our website, sparrowdogs.com. Requirements vary as per the individual dog's needs as far as time alone, children, other pets, fenced yard vs. leash walking and such. Our adoption donations can range from $99 for less adoptable/older dogs, and higher for puppies and other highly sought after dogs(which helps us take in needy often medically challenged dogs and cats.)
Our contract states we have the right to visit the dog, check up periodically as well as take the dog back if necessary. We get first right to the dog if adopter chooses not to keep him. We want all adopters to realize this is a serious commitment and want our dogs to go to safe, loving homes.
