Joey had surgery after we rescued him to repair his hind patellar (kneecap, a condition common in chihuahuas and small breed dogs), so we would like to see Joey go to a home who is willing to keep him on lifelong joint supplements (fish oil, glucosamine/chondroitin, etc.) to keep his legs healthy and keep him on a high quality diet.
Joey would do well as an only dog if his owner has ample time for him each day, but he would also do well with a playmate of any size (he's been around both large and small dogs). He is not suitable for home looking for a lap dog, as he is very puppy-like and wants to be a participating member in his new family. His new owners should be able and prepared to take a leadership role with him.
If you would like to meet this cute little boy and consider making him a part of your family, please contact us. If you are seeking a little buddy dog, a pal to join you in daily activities, Joey is your guy. He is a sweet dog who is looking for his forever home. Joey's adoption fee is $125 which which helps us cover his medical care and fostering needs. He is microchipped and neutered.
