My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Betty, wahoo it’s great t meet you! My brother Tom and I are the new adoptable puppies at NBS Animal Rescue! We’re estimated to be doxie- chihuahua mixes. My Brother is shorter, and I’ve got long legs that are great for jumping and catching tennis balls. I’m the lady who is lighter in color, with semi-floppy ears, They might even stand up tall someday, wouldn’t that be neat? My personality is bold, adventurous and super curious and smart! In foster care, we are getting ALL of our necessary vetting for 9-10 week old puppies. Isn’t that neat? When we came into rescue, we were a little skinny – but super excited to meet anyone new. We’ve met big dogs, little dogs, and we even met a cat! The cat didn’t want to play with us though, we didn’t mean any harm, we just think new pets and kids are interesting to play with and pounce on – so we’ll need a home that will help us mature into greeting with our noses and not our paws. We will not require fenced in yards, but we are fairly dainty, and would do best in a home with kids 7 years old and up. We like kids but we’re little, teething, and accidentally go under-foot a lot trying to romp around and play.

Since we’re puppies, that means we are still working on potty training, are playful and jumpy and LOVE chew toys!

I should tell you – I’m pretty much a professional fetcher these days. My foster mom laughs really hard, because when she tries to give me milkbones? I drop them at her feet so she’ll throw them, then I fetch it and bring it back. She keeps telling me to just “eat it”, but that’s not as fun as fetch, am I right? Tee hee hee!

If you’d like to apply for either of us, you can do so at ww.NBSAnimalRescue.com. We’d love a home that will show either one of us how to grow up and be a REAL, fur-ever family dog! Thanks so much.

Love,
Betty

P.S. Here are the helpful steps in applying!

1.) Visit www.NBSAnimalRescue.com happy to adopt me. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you, and whatever other pets you have in the home to make sure we all get along. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to do the next steps too. : )

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release info about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your vet). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
