My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hubba Hubba! What a looker this boy is! Shilo is a drop-dead gorgeous lab/shepherd mix (we believe) who found himself in a very high kill shelter as a result of his parents divorcing. His owners did love Shilo very much, and even gave the shelter information about him. We know he is about 1.5 years old, grew up with small children and other dogs, and tested ok with cats. Once we got him out of the scary shelter into a loving foster home we discovered he is very well trained and knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash, has good recall off leash, rides well in a car, and is a pretty chill guy. He does have some separation anxiety when left alone and will chew things left on tables (hasn't chewed furniture or anything of that nature, just smaller things), and will go in a crate if he has to if there are treats involved, but he hates his crate. He will whine loudly and cry when his family leaves and returns.

Shilo is being fostered in a home with several other dogs, and has also had visits from lots of family and friends' dogs, and he does well with all of them. He has grown up around children and he would love to have children again in his life to protect and play with. He is particularly hoping for a large yard where he can run and play, as he loves to be outside in his foster home's yard.

Shilo weighs about 83 lbs. and is full grown. He is neutered, microchipped, and has received updated vaccines. He tested negative for heartworm and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Shilo received a clean bill of health from the vet!
