My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Schroeder is currently living in a foster home in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Schroeder was originally adopted in September 2015 as a 10 week old puppy from Houston. Sadly, he came back to our rescue as the owner surrendered him due to lack of time and leaving him unattended for long periods of time. He is almost two years old and currently weighs 30 lbs. He would love to find a family who can take him on walks or runs and provide him with the attention he deserves. He is a complete sweetheart who loves to cuddle and be near his people. He is very loyal and would make a great companion for someone who is home a lot or retired. Schroeder enjoys chewing on a good bone and likes a variety of toys. He really loves the attention of interacting with his people. He currently lives with three other dogs in his foster home and does great with them all. He does need slower introductions to other dogs as new things can overwhelm him. He is working on building up his confidence and just wants to be loved. He does have separation anxiety, but once he becomes comfortable, his playful side will come out. He would love to have another dog in his forever home to help with his confidence and it would be best if this dog already lived there and was not also a new adoption (for obvious adjustment reasons). Schroeder really thrives with a regular, consistent routine and prefers a quiet household.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit and a meet and greet. Please note that preference is given to adopters in Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.
