Meet Schroeder! He is currently living in a foster home in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Schroeder was originally adopted in September 2015 as a 10 week old puppy from Houston. Sadly, he came back to our rescue as the owner surrendered him due to lack of time and leaving him unattended for long periods of time. He is about one years old and currently weighs 25 lbs. He would love to find a family who can take him on walks and provide him with the attention he deserves. He is a complete sweetheart who loves to cuddle and be near his people. He is very loyal and would make a great companion for someone who is home a lot or retired. Schroeder enjoys chewing on a good bone and likes a variety of toys. Lately, he has really caught on to the game of fetch and loves the attention of interacting with his people. He currently lives with three other dogs in his foster home and does great with them all. He is working on building up his confidence and just wants to be loved.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit and a meet and greet. Please note that preference is given to adopters in Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.

About Paddy's Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

Our primary goal is to find adoptive homes for these amazing animals that are located in shelters, rescues and foster homes. How does it work? You fill out a Paddy's Paws Application which will be submitted for approval for adoption to the Houston rescues. This application is used for Lola's Lucky Day and Houston K911, two 501c3 organizations. Why the same application for two different organizations? It helps streamline the process! There may not be a dog in Lola's for you, but there might be at K911...and you don't have to go through additional steps!

Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues! Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so we will need to go through all the steps before having you meet any of the available dogs here in Wisconsin.

The application, reference checks and homevisit are considered part of the general approval process and we cannot guarantee that a specific dog will still be available when you complete the process, but doing so will get you access to our "match making" service where you will have bios and pictures of multiple dogs that may be exactly what you're looking for! And, of course, there's always the possibility that the dog that sparked your initial interest will still be available!

We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs.
