The handsome boy - a hound mix of some sort (we're not sure what kind of hound) - had been roaming for a long time, and ended up in the shelter because he raided a chicken coop and got caught. He was a day away from being euthanized when our rescue stepped up for him.
Tucker was a very scared boy when we first met him. He also tested positive for heartworm.
We treated the heartworm, and gave him some time and love and training, and he has really come out of his shell!
Tucker is a true cuddle-bug. It takes him a minute or two to trust people, but once he does, he gives his whole heart!
As with many shy dogs, he gains confidence from other balanced dogs, so we would like to find him a home with at least one other canine sibling.
He is GREAT with children of all ages, and is just fine with cats, as well!
Tucker has finished his heartworm treatment, is medically cleared, and has been neutered. Now all he needs is a totally terrific forever home!
He will do best with a family where someone is home much of the time - a family with someone who works from home or a stay-at-home parent would be wonderful for Tucker.
He is a lovable, gentle, affectionate dog who will win your heart when you meet him.
He has been waiting a long time for a truly terrific forever home. Let's not keep him waiting any longer!
