My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Anna Mae has had a rough life during her first year – she is a true rescue dog! Her litter mates didn't survive being neglected on the front porch last winter but someone was looking after this little sweetheart. When her owner died the rest of the family ignored her and wouldn't feed her! She also came to our rescue with a horrible case of flea dermatitis along with a weight of 13 lbs.! Thankfully a neighbor stepped in and life has been better each day. Through all of this her little spirit couldn't be brighter. She has a funny personality and seems to wake up each day just happy to be alive. Anna Mae is great with other dogs and ignores them if they want to be grouchy. She loves to play. Her playing buddies have been two senior Danes and a beagle…the Danes get tired quickly and at times have hidden in the bathroom until she passes! She is also very good with cats. She has been tested with school age children and likes to see what their up to! Anna Mae doesn't present any health problems, but she does have an overbite - but it doesn't seem to bother her. In fact you can't even tell - it just adds to her charm! Our vet says she should have dental 'rinse' added to her water each day and her foster brushes her teeth every day as well to keep the exposed teeth healthy. Anna Mae will need a fenced yard to keep her safe and plenty of toys and play partners that don’t hide in the bathroom.
