Ernie's Story...
Hi, my name is Ernie. I am a Miniature Chiweenie (Chihuahua & Miniature Dachshund mix). I am a small fellow, weighing only 6 lbs and am approximately 1 ½ years old. I have a wonderful personality and I am just as handsome as I am loveable. I am easy going and will blend well into just about any situation. I love to be held and cuddled and I get along well with other dogs. Some of my favorite pastimes are sunbathing and playing chase with other dogs. I have good potty manners and will go outside if given access. If needed, I will also use a wee wee pad. I am presently becoming acquainted with walking on a leash and do not know if I like cats or not. I am going to make an incredible 4-legged family member to the lucky family who adopts me. If you would like to meet this handsome guy, please fill out an application found at www.RescueAChi.com and we will give you a call.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernie, a San Diego Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
