Tommy's Story...
Hi, I'm Tommy, a buff and white tabby (domestic short hair)! You will see plenty of my white belly (as pictured here) as I love to flop over and lie on my back so that you can give me tummy rubs. I'm also a big fan of nose-to-nose smooches with humans. Even though I was found as a tiny kitty on the mean streets, I love being around people and have always had an extremely sweet temperament. I'm rarely frightened of anything (very gentle with everyone) and will settle in very quickly with you--my foster parent was amazed when I flopped over for a belly rub immediately after arriving in a new home! Also, I really like to chase and retrieve toy mice/paper balls/etc. if you throw them across the room--I'm told that it's very entertaining to watch me do my tricks...

I get along great with other cats, and even though I haven’t been around dogs or kids much, I’m pretty sure I’d like them too. I am neutered and current on vaccinations, so I’m ready to find my permanent home--if you want any more info about me, my foster parent likes me a lot and will be happy to answer any questions.

For more info, please email or call 281-753-0136. I'm often at Petsmart by the West Loop on the weekends, so call/email to be sure I'll be there if you want to visit me in person, Thanks a lot--I'm looking forward to meeting you soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tommy, a Houston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Houston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
