Hi, there! My name is Hershey. What’s yours? Nice to meet ya! I have some kisses to give to you - - No, not chocolate - - Even Better - - my own big, sloppy kisses!

Hey! Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK? As soon as you adopt me, I’ll be on my way to you!

I am a Vizsla/Weimaraner puppy about 8 months old and I weigh 24 pounds. I will have had all of my shots and be spayed before I go to meet you in my new home with YOU! Those funny-looking 2-legged creatures said I’d also be microchipped – whatever THAT is.

Wanna hear some more good stuff about me? OK, here goes. I am extremely friendly with people and other dogs. Since I’m just a puppy, I’ve got a lot to learn. I’m a fast learner and I know you can teach me all kinds of good stuff.

I am super sweet, my foster tells everyone. I know she’s telling the truth because they all love on me and smile and speak very sweetly to me. So, it must be true! AND, I’ve had no accidents in the house because I learned the doggie door very quickly and I’m very sweet and polite. How ‘bout that, huh? And if that’s not enough, look into my beautiful gray/brown eyes. My foster says I’m quite the “looker”! That’s good, huh?

Can you stand hearing more good things about me? Well, I am so happy to be with my peeps, as soon as you start talking sweetly to me, my tail starts to wag and sounds like drums hitting the wall, if I’m close to a wall. I’m learning “Leave It.” I already know “Sit”. I am a very, very active pup who needs lots of attention and exercise. I’m so cute, surely you wouldn’t mind giving me the attention I need and, as for exercise, I’ll run circles around you. Really, I’ll run circles around you! It’s my specialty. I am a fun and playful pup.

My foster mom loves me SO much that she only wants me to fly to my new home even if a pet transport truck was available. See my adoption information below.

If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $650 USD and includes my vetting, spaying, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND transportation on United Airlines from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

About A Better Life - Maine

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $450 for a dog being transported to a neighboring state via truck transport or $650 to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.
