Merelynn's Story...
LOOOOOK at those eyes!!!  Merelyn has had a rough start to her life but it's finally all up from here.  She was found on the side of the road with her umbilical cord still attached...and went into the jail program (PADDLE Program).  She did great until she came down with some weird blood infection (we thought it was puppy strangles but they've ruled that out) and almost died.  She had to have several spots on her body removed as well as part of her tail and it truly was touch and go but now....she's all gooooooo!!!!  She's just adorable and ready for her new home!

The PADDLE Program is ran from our county jail in West TN and the female trustees raise and care for the pups while they finish their vetting. They work very hard training them to have good "manners" and we've had great results from this program!

If you'd like to add Merelynn to your family please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application. Merelynn is in West TN and will be transported once her adoption is finalized.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merelynn, a Southington Boxer/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Southington, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
