Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ricky
Age: 12 years
Ricky
Hi, I’m Ricky and don’t let my white face fool you! I may be 13 on paper but I’ve got a lot of love to give yet. I found myself all alone in the shelter after my family’s situation changed and they could no longer keep me. I still don’t understand what happened because I am a gentle, easy-going mellow fellow and all I want is someone to love me back. My one goal in life is to be with or near my people! I follow foster mom around the house and lie on the bathroom rug while she gets ready every morning. When she’s on the computer, I park myself on the nearest floor mat where I can see her at all times. I don’t ask for much, don’t demand attention or petting, but I do enjoy it when you have a moment. A funny quirk - I prefer flat mats to fluffy dog beds, but I will admit to preferring to sleep on the bed with you if possible. I understand if you have to leave for work every day and am reliable loose in the house while you’re gone. Although I was previously an only dog, I enjoy being around other dogs and get along great with my foster dog siblings. There are no cats here but my notes say I didn’t show any interest in them previously and it makes sense because I don’t seem to care about squirrels or other critters in the yard. I am great on a leash, easy to walk and absolutely a dream in the car, just sitting nicely watching the world go by. I am healthy for a senior and not on any medications. My hearing isn’t perfect any more but I am always alert and don’t miss a beat. Oh, by the way, I’m pretty proud of my surprisingly soft fur. Trust me – pet me once and you won’t want to stop, I’m that soft! I’ve been very quiet, except a couple of times when foster mom started to play with me and I pounced and barked at her to keep her going, like I was a pup! Won’t you give me another chance for a fur-ever home? I promise to make you fall in love with me quickly, I’m really good at that!
