Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ViVi is a very affectionate and playful girl. She is partially paralyzed but she does not let that stop her. She darts about the house on her two front legs.
Vivi is with a foster that has large dogs, cats, and older kids.
Vivi needs help up the stairs but loves to be with the family.
Vivi's Day with her foster: Vivi is paralyzed from the waist down. First thing in the morning she gets her bladder manually emptied, and a quick bath. Throughout the day I don't put a diaper on her because diapers are not good for her skin and having the urine against her skin. I have Laminate flooring so we clean up behind her through the day. If you need her to wear diapers through the day they will need to be changed often because she does leak through the day. She gets a bladder emptied, about three-four times a day this reduces leakage throughout and is good for her bladder health. Every night she gets a bath and a diaper so she can lay up on the bed for a while. She keeps her diaper on for 3-4 hour and when I go for the restroom, then she gets cleaned up and put in her own bed for the night. (if she is up sitting with us through the day we are sure to put her on a towel or blanket) Every other night she gets a full spa, this includes a full scrub including ears and toes. Then make sure she is fully dry before rubbing her down with a antibiotic lotion, anti yeast cream around the sensitive areas, then ear wipes and inside ear wipe out. Nail clippers are also near by because paralyzed dogs nails seem to grow faster. I basically treat her like a new born. My kids are home schooled and help out throughout the day with basic needs. We keep a clean mop and bucket out through the day to make cleaning easier. Baby wipes on hand are also handy for the messy ones. I also only use washable diapers because of the chemicals in disposable diapers. I know it seems like a lot and it kind of is, but you kind of get in a routine and it becomes the new norm for your home. I hope to get a carry bag this spring for her so she is able to travel with us throughout the day.
If you are unable to adopt Vivi but would like to help with her care, I have included a Wish list. Thank you in advance!
