Trixie's Story...
Trixie was adopted as a puppy with us and was returned through no fault of her own. She made "puppy" mistakes and her owner was not patient enough to train and help her learn how to be a good canine citizen. Trixie has a personality that really wants to please and attaches herself to anyone that will show affection. She is in a great foster home with other dogs and is doing fantastic. Trixie is young enough that she will be a great dog with proper love and attention. If you would like to give Trixie a forever home please fill out an application. Her adoption fee is $200 which includes spay, microchip, shots including rabies. We are looking for a forever home that will show her patience so she does not have to go through again.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie, a Tehachapi Dachshund/Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Rat Terrier for sale in Tehachapi, or seeking a Dachshund/Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Tehachapi.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tehachapi already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tehachapi breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tehachapi paves the way for another one to be saved.
