Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pearl is a new addition to the rescue but in her short time with us, we are already in love with her. She was given up by her owners and they reported that she was protective of them around strangers. We aren’t surprised because in addition to her being a doberman, she is also an insecure girl (insecure dogs have the biggest barks) and her eyes are so light in color that she is practically blind when outside. She is about 4 years old and drop dead gorgeous. With that striking white coat comes a big responsibility on behalf of her new owners though and one you need to be prepared for. White Dobies cannot be outdoors for extended periods of time and Pearl especially, seems to dislike being outside very much. White Dobies need eye protection when outside like Doggles and maybe even doggie visors. They are also very prone to skin cancer and will need small melanomas removed as they age so that cancer doesn’t take over their whole body. Pearl can be nervous with fast movements and new environments but gentle patience really puts her at ease and helps her get past things that frighten her. Despite all of that, she is a good girl, super sweet, calm, crate trained, quiet and so gentle. We think she would do best as an indoor dog without really young kids and she is good with most other dogs but they have to be patient with her because of her eyesight.
