Facts about Chelsea

  • Breed: Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
**Chelsea is currently being fostered in HOUSTON. She is available for out-of-state adoption as well to the perfect family. Her adoption fee is $500, which covers her flight to her new family, a travel kennel, and she is vetted.**

Chelsea was pulled from a local kill shelter, and believe it or not she was almost euthanized but we were able to bust her out just in time!

Chelsea is a pretty mellow girl that will follow her foster family around or just makes herself comfy on the furniture. She has definitely been an inside dog at some point. She does well on a leash and is knows sit. She is not a fan of small dogs but is doing well with the two larger dogs in her foster home. She is curious about cats but doesn’t chase and really hasn’t reacted at all. She has been around 9 year old children and does fine. She is a little shy in new situations but she is just an overall sweet girl that wants to be by her owner’s side.

We believe she is about a year and a half old and appears to be a purebred Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Her color is called “dead grass” and she weighs about 61 lbs but may gain a couple of pounds since she is a tad skinny.

**Chelsea is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and doing very well in her foster home. She is ready to find her family to complete her transformation. If our sweet girl sounds like a perfect match for your family, please email us at pawhuggers@gmail.com for more information or to complete an adoption application please go to www.pawhuggers.org, hover over the Adoptables tab and then click on Adoption Application. Her adoption fee is $500 to help cover the cost of her airline flight and her travel crate.

About Paw Huggers - Massachusetts

About Our Rescue Group...

Paw Huggers Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no kill, and all volunteer animal rescue based in Tomball, Texas. Our mission is to rescue abandoned and neglected dogs and cats, and provide them with a safe living environment and medical care until a permanent, loving home is found. Paw Huggers Animal Rescue relies solely on volunteers, fosters, and donations.

We at Paw Huggers are grateful for such a giving group of foster volunteers. By fostering an animal in need, you are able to show them what it is like to be in a safe environment full of love. Many of our animals have not had the chance, or have forgotten, what it is like to be part of a family.

Fostering a dog or cat is a tangible and rewarding way to make a difference in that animals life. Every foster space that we have available takes another animal off of the streets. It is difficult to learn the true personality of an animal that is caged all day in a boarding facility. By fostering these dogs and cats we are able to learn their personalities and better evaluate them for their forever home.
