Octavia (Spayed)'s Story...
"Octavia" is a gorgeous female kitten who was surrendered by her owner on June 30, 2016 along with her six siblings (Olaf, Ollie, Olympia, Opie, Oprah, and Oscar). They were 2-months old when they entered our shelter. This little sweetheart has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a stunning face with large golden eyes and a black button nose. "Octavia" has a sweet, fun-loving personality. She was given vaccinations and wormer on September 15, 2016. "Octavia" was like the proverbial 'kid in a candy shop' when she and her siblings were moved from a small cat tower and into a spacious 'apartment' on September 15th. "Octavia" and her sisters/brothers (Olympia, Olaf, Ollie, Opie, Oprah, and Oscar) are now enjoying the freedom of our large nursery room just off the lobby in our shelter, and they are having the time of the lives romping/playing and exploring new territory, new beds, and lots of new toys. UPDATE: "Octavia" was spayed on September 21, 2016 and was also given rabies vaccine. One of her siblings (Olaf) has been combo tested and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm .. Which is also great news for the rest of these boys and girls!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Octavia (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
