My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Clark, an 8 week old mixed breed pup who weighs 20.3 pounds.
That is not a typo: he weighs 20 pounds and he just turned 8 weeks old! His foster home calls him "Big Foot"since his paws are huge.

Clark and his much smaller siblings came to us from MO, where they were born on a farm. We know their date of birth, and that mom is an 80 pound Livestock Guardian Dog. Mom looks like a giant Schnauzer, and Clark looks just like her! Although we can't say for sure, it's a good guess that Clark will be a very large dog like his mom.

Clark was in a foster home with kids and other dogs. He was a little shy at first, but is great with kids and quickly became his foster mom's new best friend. He is truly a gentle giant, who wants to be with you at all times. Although he is fine with other dogs, he really just wants to be with his people. He is not a barker at all, although he sometimes whines when left alone. He has a very low energy level for such a young puppy, but loves to run around the back yard to stretch his legs. He also loves to sleep on the couch. Clark is well on his way to being house-trained, and is able to sleep through the night 8 or 9 hours in his crate, without any accident.

Clark will be at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, on September 20th. You can come meet him and see how big, and how sweet he is for yourself, 7 days a week during normal store hours. (847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com)

Because he is so young, Clark will need a family where someone is home part or all of the day to keep him on a potty schedule and give him the love and attention he wants. Puppy obedience school is also a requirement for adoption.

Clark's adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, heart worm preventative, flea/tick preventative, routine deworming, microchip and neuter.
