Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet sweet, shy Mattie: a 6 pound dog who looks like a Pomeranian. She was matted and filthy when found at a shelter (see "before" picture!) but her sweet personality managed to shine through. Now that she's all cleaned up, she looks like a different dog. She is eager to have love and affection, and is a real love herself.
We aren't sure how old she is--vet estimates range from 4 to 7 years. We do know that she's timid around new people and situations, but once she gets to know you, she is super sweet.
Her foster home tells us: "Mattie is a sweet, lovable dog. She is nervous, and takes a longer time to adjust. She loves to be held. At night, she sleeps in bed next to me all through the night. During the day, Mattie loves laying next to me on the coach. She is not one for long walks--she wants to be carried instead!-- but she knows to potty outside. She would be fine with another small dog. She a quiet dog, not a barker. Perfect for apartment living! She sleeps a lot, and is a picky eater. I often have to hand feed her. She's a dog you pamper: her coat needs brushing daily, and her teeth also need brushing, since this breed is known for bad teeth. But Mattie is great company and would be a great pint-sized companion."
Because she is so small and so timid, Mattie would do best in an all-adult home, with someone home at least part of the day.
Mattie's adoption fee of $300 includes: vet exam, dental, distemper combo vaccination, bordetella and rabies vaccinations, heart worm test, heart worm preventative, flea/tick preventative, routine deworming, microchip and spay.
