Albert's Story...
This is Albert and he is looking for a great new home with lots of activity and another cat to play with. He was surrendered with his 2 brothers in July of 2015 when he was about 8 weeks old. They were being dumped in a parking lot and a nice family grabbed them and brought them to PAWS. Albert was adopted in January by a single young woman who had never had a cat before. She returned him 4 months later because she said he had "issues". When asked what they were she described Albert as not a "normal" cat because he was too friendly! He would greet her friends when they came over to her apartment which isn't "cat-like at all" she said. Her friends thought it was weird too! She also said he "got into things" when she left him for a days at a time when she went to live with her boyfriend. He was just too much "trouble". (Sometimes it's hard to hear these return stories.... without wanting to slap someone.... believe me!). Anyway, Albert would love an active home and a playmate and people to love him despite his "issues" (sic!). If you are interested in Albert please continue reading.....

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Albert, a Oklahoma City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oklahoma City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oklahoma City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oklahoma City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oklahoma City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oklahoma City paves the way for another one to be saved.
