Sasha's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and not good with dogs.

Sasha's Story...

Sasha is a beautiful female German Shepherd Dog.  We believe she's a young adult -- probably around 2-3 years old.  She still has a puppy-like personality.

She has been good with the children she has met.  She has been very calm with kids, even when they were excited.

She is a "bossy female" with other dogs in the home although she interacts fine with some other dogs in a one on one situation.  She's fine at a dog park though.

She loves toys.  In fact, she loves to carry around her ball.   She's still learning to play fetch, but she's catching on.  She's done fine with the other dogs she's met, and she enjoys playing with other dogs.

Like most GSDs, she likes to stick next to her person.  She will follow her person from room to room, making sure everything is okay.  She loves attention.

Sasha is already crate-trained and house-trained.  She also knows how to use a doggie door.  She still has a little puppy mischief in her and will explore the trash if it's left out for her.   She has completed a basic obedience course and won first place in her graduation exercise.  Her adopters will be expected to continue working on obedience training.

A completed adoption application, with vet and personal references, and a home check are required to apply to adopt. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  Applications are approved solely in the discretion of the RSGSR board of directors.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sasha, a Baton Rouge German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
