On medical hold

Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Please read our eligibility requirements and apply on our website: www.ildoberescue.com/adopt.  After application is submitted, additional inquiries can email PlusDogs@ILDobeRescue.com

Queenie is a 7-year-old English Bulldog who spent her life living in a barn making babies so her former owners could make a quick buck. When she arrived at IDR+, she was urine-stained, dirty, and scared. The bath was pretty frightening for her at first, but once she realized she was getting a nice massage, she relaxed and enjoyed herself. She took a trip to the vet with her foster mom, and the years of neglect have taken a toll on her. Due to bulldogs being a high-risk for surgery, we are breaking up treatment her medical needs. For her first surgery, Queenie needed a full dental package to mend her broken and plaque-covered teeth. There were several extractions. She also has entropion eyes, so she had surgery to fix them and had a wrinkle removed from her face that was chronically infected. For her second surgery in a few weeks, the mass that was discovered in her mammary tissue will be removed, and she also needs to be spayed. On top of all of this, Queenie is heartworm positive, and she can’t start that treatment for a while. Apart from her medical issues, she is the sweetest girl. She is learning about sights and sounds of living in a home and enjoying the love and attention she is receiving from her foster family. Queenie is nowhere near ready to be adopted, but please consider donating to her massive medical bills.
