Sugar II's Story...
Name Sugar II 8lb, Adult Girl Maltipoo, Adoption fee $350
I’ve had a rough time, what with going to the shelter and getting spayed. But I am getting my spirits back and starting to strut my stuff. Like any girl, I won’t tell my age, but I am definitely full-grown at 8 lb. I may be small, but I like my walks and can definitely keep up with you.  I get along with all the other dogs in our kennel, but I don’t know about cats or small children.  People? Yes, I love people.

What do I want? I want someone to love, a nice soft lap, and not too many scary noises or animals.

I don’t shed, but I am not curly either.  So probably my  ancestors include poodles and maybe some Maltese.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.
The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar II, a Walnut Creek Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese dog from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
