My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Congrats RICO on your pending adoption!!!!!

Rico is here!   He is just settling in to his foster home....getting acquainted with all the new sights and sounds - and smells.  This cute guy is sure to win you over with his sweet face and is ready to move right in to his new and forever home.  Rico is full of love, enthusiasm and energy and will need to learn -  well, everything!  Be prepared to fall in love....this boy is great!

Please do your research when considering adopting a puppy.  Successfully raising a puppy is not for the faint of heart - it is a considerable amount of work that requires lots of love and more patience than you ever thought you would ever need, and it takes time!  Puppies are cute, have razor sharp teeth and chew on everything; and just  like a human baby, they require a commitment that must last a lifetime!

*When applying to adopt one of our puppies, please also remember this:    Up to the age of 8 months puppies cannot be left alone for a standard work day.   Arrangements will have to be in place for 4-5 hour intervals until the pups are at least 8 months old. Having someone with them every 4-5 hours until they are older greatly facilitates the housebreaking process.

Update from Rico's Foster:

Rico is settling in very well. He is a very happy and loving puppy. His favorite things to do are curl in your lap and get love, chew on his bones, and play with his foster brother and sisters. Rico is learning that cats are not horrible creatures, but will need a home that is ready for some initial barking when he sees them. But He is learning quickly that they are not playmates. He has lots of energy, but settles down very nicely when it's time to relax. He is a shadow puppy!! At my feet no matter where I go. He really wants to please, and all it takes is a stern " no" and he stops whatever he is doing and sits next to me.
He is taking the big world in stride. Learning about all the weird things he comes across,(like super scary WetFloor signs). He is very food motivated, so training him has been fun. He will be a super star at puppy classes!! He is doing very well on housebreaking. But is a puppy, so diligence and a good schedule are imperative. He is getting used to the crate, but much prefers to sleep at your feet.
This amazing boy is going to be the best dog any family could ask for!
