Meet Lulu!!
This darling short stack is sure to win your heart over--especially when you hear her sad story...

Lulu was picked up in middle GA by animal control after they got a call about a dog tied to a tree. Well, that dog was Lulu and her owner left her tied to a tree with an embedded collar, hugely pregnant and emaciated. A foster offer got her out to safety, but soon after being rescued, she gave birth to nine puppies. Due to her poor health conditions, Lulu's babies were not strong enough and every one died. Lulu took in another litter to help her grieving and she raised 4 puppies.
She is nothing short of delightful. She is a lowrider, long and low to the ground. 45 lbs, cheerful sun up to sun down, gentle with people and other dogs, mellow as they come... We love, love, LOVE Lulu and you will too! Housebroken and crate-trained...she is the real deal!!!!!

All New England Humane Society pets are up to date on all age appropriate shots, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. If you would like to meet or adopt Lulu, please fill out an application on our website: Adoption fee: $475.00

About New England Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

The New England Humane Society is an all breed dog rescue located in Northern Rhode Island. We have foster homes located throughout New England. We are a group of dedicated animal lovers who rescue animals from euthanasia at overcrowded county shelters and pounds, as well as abandoned animals, litters found in fields, and other homeless animals in need. NEHS’s goal is to care for these rescues until they find their forever homes, and educate the public about responsible pet care. Our animals are fully vetted and spayed or neutered. They are treated regardless of age, breed, or medical cost. NEHS receives no state funding or government assistance. We survive by the donations of caring people, fund raising, and adoption fees. Since we do not have a facility, most of our pets are kept in private foster homes in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue! Adoption literally saves lives. When you adopt from our rescue, you enable us to pull another dog from a shelter, which saves the life of another dog and creates more space at the shelter so that new dogs can be kept longer.

The first step is to submit our online application. Please make sure it’s complete : )

If the application is approved, we will make arrangements for you to meet any dogs in your area that you may be interested in and that fit your requirements.
Once you have decided to adopt a dog, you will need to complete the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee of $375.00 - $450.00. The adoption fee helps us to recover a portion of the expenses we routinely incur in rescue (boarding, vaccinations, worming, spay/neuter if age appropriate, and transport) so that we can continue to save other dogs. Please note that the adoption fee is nonrefundable.
