My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Daphne. She is currently located in an adoptable kennel at the City of Turlock animal shelter. The shelter staff has Daphne listed as a Whippet mix. We think she might have a touch of border collie in her, just a guess. Daphne is only 43 lbs. She was surrendered to the shelter when her owners could no longer care for her. As you can see, Daphne is mostly all black in color. She shares her kennel with a 22 lb neutered male Manchester Terrier mix named Twix, and the two of them get along just fine together. The shelter staff really likes Daphne and has been asking for her help with dog to dog introductions for testing other shelter animals and Daphne does just great. She is becoming very social with the shelter staff.

Daphne is housetrained, and good with kids. Her posting on the Turlock shelter's website says that she does okay with other dogs but wants to be the boss. It seems she does just fine with her kennel partner and has been no trouble with other dogs at the shelter. Her posting on the Turlock shelter's website says that she needs a secured yard. We think that Daphne just never got out for a walk on a regular basis and would prefer a home where she could be someone's walking partner and good companion. Daphne is listed as 8 yrs old and we think that she has lots of love to give someone that will give her a second chance. When I met Daphne and her kennel partner Twix in person, they came up to say hello and were not barkey. They did not jump up on the kennel door for attention. Both were well behaved and friendly. We think that Daphne could male someone a very nice companion. She is spayed, and current on vaccinations and is all ready to go to her new home.

If you can offer Daphne a good home, please contact the Turlock Animal shelter, Or better yet, go to see her. You can refer to her animal ID#9-3. Please check out the city of turlock's facebook page for a short Video on Daphne!
