Dexter's Story...
Meet Dexter! Dexter was pulled from a high kill shelter in North Carolina and is currently in a foster home in Central NJ. The vet believes he is about 2 years old and healthy. He is full grown at about 50 pounds, current on his vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative. He is living with dogs and cats and does great with all (he has learned to avoid the cats and loves to romp and cuddle with the dogs). He is crate trained and house broken and walks well on leash. Car rides make him nervous so we are working on taking him on short trips. When he is not busy playing with the dogs he loves belly rubs and cuddle time with his foster family. He has a very sweet personality and would do well in almost any home. For more information please e-mail his foster mom Melanie at m_mawn@yahoo.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter, a Paterson Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Paterson, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Paterson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Paterson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Paterson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Paterson paves the way for another one to be saved.
