I am a very gorgeous mix of Labrador Retriever and Whippet. I am 47 pound cuddly bundle of love. I am just 5 years old, healthy, up to date on my shots and spayed.

I am a very devoted girl, and love spending time with my humans more than anything in the world.

Although I love children, more than 1 child in my home can make me feel anxious and protective. I am best suited to a home with no children - or just one calm, special kid for me to adore. I am not a good choice if you have cats, as I love to chase them (I am a Whippet mix, after all!)

When I am outdoors having fun, I am full of energy. I love to run… very fast. I need to have daily exercise to keep me happy and healthy.

When I am indoors with my humans, I am ultra chill - the perfect lap dog. I don't like being left all alone for long periods of time. For this reason, I would be best suited for owners who work from home, or retired folks who are homebodies.

I have great manners in the house - an all-round great dog, that's me!

My owners love me so very much, but they have discovered that I am a 'one kid dog' and I have become quite protective of their youngest child. This is a great situation for her, but for her sister - not so much!

They are hoping to find me a very loving home that is more suitable for my personality. A calm environment with adults who have plenty of time to spend with me.

I would love to have a securely fenced yard to play in. Above all, I want people to love and who will love me back even more.

About Indianapolis Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters and rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
