Ollivander's Story...
Meet Ollivander! Ollivander is a ridiculously friendly male orange and white tabby. He is about 4 -5 months old. Ollivander had a rough start in life and ended up in the shelter with a broken front leg. Lucky for him, a foster home took him in and Friends of Rescue got him needed care – which included 5 weeks in a cast (no, his magic wand!) ! Ollivander took it all in stride and is now enjoying a cast-free life. His leg is completely healed and he is rebuilding muscles and ligament strength. Ollivander is a very good lap kitten (chest kitten?) and very friendly. He loves people and other cats and gets along great with the dogs in his foster home. He does need a companion cat (he absolutely loves the other cats he lives with) in his future home. If you don’t have a cat already and you might be interested in adopting two, he would make an awesome paring with Logan, another orange kitten in his foster home. Those two rambunctious boys are a great match and get along famously.
Ollivander is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. He just needs a fun place to finish his recuperations, get some attention, and play and live the rest of his life. Are you that place? He’d love to meet you!
If interested, please contact, or better yet, fill out an application at It doesn't bind you to anything, it's just where our process begins.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ollivander, a Knoxville Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
