My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COUNT CHOCULA is a 3 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 62 pounds. Count Chocula is delightful, full of personality, he loves to be with you and to get petted. likes to play. Likes to retrieve but is not a nut about it. He would like to have a home with a fenced yard so he can get exercise playing with his owners without wandering off. From his behavior Count Chocula was someone's buddy and would like to be again. Good with other dogs, has been out with other LR dogs at the kennel. Knows sit, come and sometimes down. Will have a training addendum. Hasn’t been on lead much, is better with an Easy Walk Harness. Crate trained. May be house trained as he is keeping his run clean at the kennel. He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Update: Count Chocula has been in his foster home for almost four days now and has settled in beautifully! He has proven to be a calm laidback dog who loves to gaze adoringly at his people with his striking golden eyes. This sweet boy bonds quickly to his people, will follow you around the house (Velcro dog, anyone?), and gives the softest doggie kisses! While he loves meeting people and dogs, Count Chocula seems to be more of a people's dog versus a dog's dog such that at the dog park, he often sidles up to adults versus playing with dogs though he does love to fetch a ball. He was unaware of how to navigate indoor steps but is getting very confident as he's followed FM up and down them many times in recent days. He has shown such joy in playing with them, hopping around the room chasing after the orange chuck-it ball numerous times as it shoots from his mouth. He also loves human contact as evidenced by how both he and FM fell asleep on the couch last night, he with his head resting on FM's thigh the entire time. This smart boy has learned how to work FM by asking to go outside for a pit stop and squirrel perimeter check just so he can come back in and head to the treat corner. You will be "franken berry" mad at yourself if you don't ask your Adoption Coordinator about Count Chocula since he's ce-real treat.

Update: Who wouldn't want to see these golden eyes on this Velcro chocolate Lab peering up adoringly? Count Chocula has arrived at his foster home! He is very sweet, loves to give gentle kisses and enjoys being with his people. He is getting along great with his foster brother, loves his walks, and is great in the house.
