My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Riley is the other half of our “a couple of Boxers” pair, Jazzy and Riley; Riley and his mate, Jazzy, were surrendered to Tri-County Animal Rescue Center by people who claimed they had found them as strays at a local hotel. However, there is every indication that these senior, “couple of Boxers” were a breeding pair who reached the age where they could no longer be profitable purses. But the “couple of Boxers” are great dogs! Riley is such a gentleman that we drop his leash outside while he enjoys just moseying along, sniffing every blade of grass; when Jazzy returned from being spayed and was wobbly on her feet from anesthesia and pain drugs, Riley stood at his kennel gate keeping watch over her on the other side of the aisle, and vocalizing his concern; Riley deserves to be the king in his castle, not a dog in a kennel; we are reaching out to lifetime Boxer lovers in the hopes that one of you has a place in your heart and home for Riley and Jazzy; while senior dogs are often overlooked, here at the shelter we witness how special they are every day: senior dogs are house broken, don’t tug on their leashes, are done with the chewing stage, and find great pleasure in the simplest things: a leisurely walk, a soft place to land at the end of the day, an unhurried pace, and quietly devoting themselves to the one or ones who rescued them. If you have ever adopted a senior dog, you know exactly what we mean. To meet Riley and/or his main squeeze, Jazzy, contact Tri-County Animal Rescue Center on Facebook, call 814-918-2032, or email: contactus@Tricounty-arc.org
